Burrata rocca whole-wheat pizza

Nothing like a homemade clean pizza! Top it off with the freshest Italian burrata cheese and the sauciest of all saucy pizza sauces and I am sold! I'll have 12 of those please!

This pizza recipe is the easiest, most straight forward one you'll ever come across. It's made with organic whole-wheat flour and the freshest ingredients, then topped off with greens, so you don't even have to feel guilty about it!

Burrata pizza

To make 1 medium pizza (about 8 slices), all you need is:

For the dough:

- 1 cup whole-wheat flour (plus a little more for the countertop)

- 2 tsp activated dried yeast

- 1 tbsp plain yogurt

- 1 tsp salt

- 1/2 to 3/4 cup water (to be added gradually until dough texture reached)

- Brush of olive oil (to be added at the end)

For the toppings:

- Chili flakes

- Sea salt

- Bowlful of rocket leaves, washed and dried

- 1/2 lemon

- 2 tbsp olive oil

- 1/2 tsp honey

- Table salt and pepper to taste


1- Mix the dough ingredients together and combine very well using your hands, until you form a ball. Brush the ball with olive oil at the end. If making the pizza on the same day, be sure to make the dough at least 4 hours in advance, and place the ball in a bowl, cover it with a cloth then cover the bowl with a plastic bag. Keep it on your countertop at room temperate for at least 4 hours so the dough can rise. If you want to make the dough the night before, follow the same directions and leave the dough to rest for 3-4 hours on the countertop, then place it in the fridge overnight.

2- Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees C.

3- To make the pizza, spread your dough using a roller and spread into a very thin layer (the dough will rise so be sure to make it thin). Brush with a little bit of olive oil on both sides and place your dough in a pizza tray. Fold any excess dough into the crust to make the crust thicker than the pizza.

4- Poke your dough with a fork, then add 3-4 tbsp of the pizza sauce, top off with chunks of burrata cheese then sprinkle sea salt and chili flakes for added flavor. Place in the oven for 15 minutes.

5- In the meantime, prep your rocket leaves by adding 1/2 squeezed lemon, 2 tbsp olive oil, 1/2 tsp honey and salt and pepper to taste (optional: add 1 tsp of balsamic vinegar). Mix and set aside.

6- After 15 minutes, the pizza should be baked. Broil on medium heat for about 4 minutes to get a golden color at the top and a crisp.

7- Let it cool down then use a pizza cutter to cut your slices, then add the dressed rocket leaves on top and enjoy!

Easy as pie - literally! And so incredibly delicious the slices will disappear before you can say pizza! Don't be shy to be the one to go for that last slice ;)!
