Healthy waffles (no waffle-maker needed)

It's a waffley good day when you wake up to a plate of healthy waffles paired with the classic dynamic duo (peanut butter and banana).

These waffle-maker-less waffles are super easy to make and you'll be surprised at what the trick is!

I've always been hesitant to buy a waffle maker because it takes up so much space and is rarely used, so I thought, why not use the sandwich toaster? There are a few tricks involved, but once the first waffle is baked, you'll be a waffley quick waffle-maker-less waffle chef - in no time! Did I say waffle too many times? Woofs...

Healthy waffles

To make these waffles (5-6 depending on the size), you will need:

- 2 cups oats

- 1 banana

- 3/4 cup almond milk

- Pinch of cinnamon

- 1 tbsp maple syrup

- 1/2 banana

- 1 tsp peanut butter

1- Heat up your sandwich toaster at low to medium heat for 5-7 mins and spray with non-stick cooking oil. *keep the sandwich toaster open*

2- Blend the waffle batter ingredients together.

3- Use an ice-cream scooper to scoop out 1 serving on the heated sandwich toaster, do not close the top! Leave it open and once bubbles start to form and edges start to turn golden brown, flip the waffle over and let it bake for another 2-3 minutes on the other side.

4- Flip the waffle over to create horizontal lines on both sides, this time, you can close the top of the sandwich toaster since the waffle is already baked.

5- Repeat the process for the remaining batter.

Ta-da! Magic!
